Governance Hub
What is the DAO
The Odos DAO, formally organized as Odos DAO LLC, is a non-profit limited liability company and decentralized autonomous organization incorporated under the laws of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. As a decentralized governance hub, the Odos DAO is responsible for overseeing the management of the Odos DAO Governance Program (the “OGP”) and Odos Loyalty Program (the “OLP”), as amended from time to time.
DAO’s mission
ODOS DAO mission is to manage the systems that support its community and help drive long-term growth. It oversees governance by encouraging participation, creating clear decision-making processes, and ensuring the community has ownership over the DAO’s direction. It also manages rewards by running the Loyalty Program and turning user engagement into long-term alignment, strengthening the connection between contributors and the mission they share.
ODOS DAO Governance
ODOS DAO Governance is how the community makes decisions about the direction and operations of the DAO. It is powered by the $ODOS token, which gives holders the right to participate in decision-making through proposals and voting.
It’s a system that allows contributors to share ideas, give feedback, and vote on topics like rewards, loyalty, community growth, and how the treasury is used. Governance at ODOS DAO is designed to be simple, transparent, and focused on long-term impact.
What the DAO govern
- Incentives and rewards
- Community growth initiatives
- Adoption strategies
- DAO operations and contributor support
- Treasury decisions
- Loyalty program
What the DAO doesn’t govern
Technical upgrades or smart contract changes to the core protocol are not governed by the DAO — those are managed by the protocol team.
Governance Process
ODOS DAO follows a clear process to make sure proposals are shaped by the community, reviewed for feasibility, and aligned with the protocol’s goals. It starts with an idea and moves through community discussion, a review, voting, and finally execution.
Governance Forum
The proposal process begins in the ODOS Governance Forum, where contributors share early-stage ideas using the Pre-OIP format. This space allows the community to explore concepts together, ask questions, and provide feedback before a proposal is reviewed for feasibility. It’s where ideas take shape and alignment starts to build.
Minimum Engagement Requirements:
To move forward in the governance process, proposals must demonstrate a minimum level of interest and participation from the community. ODOS DAO applies a tiered model to evaluate whether a proposal has received enough engagement to proceed to the feasibility review stage:

How to participate
Only engagement on the ODOS Governance Forum will be considered valid. Proposals that do not meet these criteria will not advance to the feasibility review stage.
You don’t need to be an expert to take part in governance. Here are a few ways to get involved:
- Share ideas in the Governance Forum
- Give feedback on proposals from other community members
- Help proposals reach the engagement threshold
- Submit your own proposal using our templates and guide
- Vote or delegate your vote on Snapshot
We’ll guide you through every step in the sections below ↓ but if you still need help or have questions, Visit our Discord and ask in #general, or tag a contributor in the forum we’re happy to help.
Proposal Lifecycle:
The following steps outline how proposals move through the ODOS DAO governance process, from the moment an idea is shared to its potential approval via Snapshot voting.
This process includes community engagement, a feasibility review by the DAO team (and DevCo if needed), and structured opportunities to revise and resubmit proposals. You can follow the full lifecycle in the diagram below.
Step 1: Pre-OIP Phase (Day 1)
Use the Pre-OIP template below to structure your idea and post it in the Governance Forum. This is where your proposal begins to take shape and gather initial interest.

Title:
- What are you proposing in 2–3 sentences?
- Why is it important?
- Will this proposal help to increase Odos dApp usage and adoption? If so, how?
- Will this proposal help to increase ODOS Loyalty Program and adoption? If so, how?
- How will it impact token adoption and utility? (Please provide quantifiable evidence if impact is expected).
- Describe proposal mechanics in detail (how it will work, specific steps required, and parties involved)
- What assumptions are used to make your proposal?
- What specific technical or operational changes are requested as a result of this proposal?
- What input / feedback do you request from DAO Lead, DevCo, or community?
- Filled out after review by Head of DAO / DevCo.

Step 2: Community Feedback (Days 1–14)
Once your idea is published, you have 14 days to gather feedback from the community. Use this time to respond to questions, clarify doubts, and strengthen your proposal.
Step 3: Feasibility Review (Days 14–24)
If your proposal meets the engagement thresholds (explained below), the Head of DAO will publish a Feasibility Report. This will assess whether the proposal is viable in its current form:
- Not Feasible - Proposal is closed
- Needs Revisions - You can revise and resubmit your idea
- Feasible - You’ll be invited to move forward and submit your proposal using the official OIP format and prepare it for Snapshot submission.
Not every proposal will pass — and that’s okay. Many strong ideas evolve over time or come back later in improved form. We encourage thoughtful iteration and learning from feedback.
Step 4: Revised Submission (if needed)
If revisions are required:
- Days 24–30: Publish the updated version of your proposal
- Days 30–35: Community reviews the changes
- Days 35–40: Final Feasibility Report from DevCo + Head of DAO
Step 5: Submit the OIP (Formal Proposal)
If your proposal is marked as feasible, you can write a full Odos Improvement Proposal using the OIP Template below.
OIP Template
Use this template after your draft has undergone Pre-OIP Review.
Title:A clear, descriptive title.Authors:Names and DAO forum handles of proposal authors.Proposal Type:- Partnership Proposal

- Other (specify)
- A 2–3 sentence summary of what is being proposed and why.
- What issue or opportunity does this proposal address? Why is it relevant now?
- What is being proposed in detail? What are the specific actions or outcomes?
- Explain how this supports one or more of the following:
- Loyalty and Governance token adoption or value
- Increased Odos dApp trading volume
- Ecosystem growth
- Long-term network value
- How will success be measured? Include measurable KPIs like:
- Token volume, Loyalty Program adoption metrics
- Odos dApp Users/transactions gained
- Treasury ROI / growth
- Ecosystem growth indicators

- Feasibility Feedback:
- Resource Constraints or Risks:
- Suggested Improvements:
- Green-lit for OIP Vote? [Yes/No]
Note: To submit your OIP on Snapshot, you must hold or be delegated at least 100,000 $ODOS.
OIP (Odos Improvement Proposal)
The OIP stage is where an idea becomes a fully developed governance proposal, ready to be submitted for voting. This marks the formal transition from community discussion and feasibility review to an actionable, onchain decision-making process.
The OIP should clearly outline the problem being addressed, the proposed solution, and the expected outcomes. To ensure consistency, all proposals must follow the official OIP Template.
Step 6: Proposal Submission (7 days pending phase)
Once the proposal is finalized, the author must submit it to the ODOS Snapshot space. This begins with a Pending phase lasting 7 days, giving the community time to review the final version, clarify any open questions, and prepare for voting.
Proposal Eligibility Requirements
- You must hold at least 100,000 $ODOS voting tokens. This can be your own holdings or delegated to you as a recognized Delegate.
- You can only submit one proposal every 7 days, ensuring space for thoughtful discussion and avoids proposal spam.
Step 7: Voting (7 Days voting window)
After the Pending period, the proposal becomes Active and enters the official voting phase. Voting takes place on Snapshot and is open to all eligible token holders or their delegates.
The voting window will remain open for 7 days, unless stated otherwise in the forum. A proposal is considered approved if it meets the minimum quorum and voting thresholds defined by ODOS DAO governance. If those conditions are not met, the proposal is rejected and its lifecycle ends there.
Step 8: Holding Stage (7 Days waiting period)
If the proposal is approved, it enters a 7-day waiting period before execution. This period allows time for any final reviews, coordination, or preparation required to implement the decision.
Step 9: Execution
After the waiting period, the proposal moves into the Execution phase. At this stage, the Special Delegates confirm the approval of the OIP and carry out its implementation. Depending on the proposal, this may involve enacting changes, distributing funds, or coordinating with the protocol team for follow-up actions.
Alternative Procedures
In exceptional cases where the standard governance process is unavailable or delayed, the Special Delegates may establish temporary alternative procedures to ensure continuity and responsiveness in DAO operations.
How to Vote & Delegate
All ODOS DAO voting happens on Snapshot, a decentralized voting platform used by many DAOs. You don’t need to pay gas fees, and voting happens off-chain.
How to Vote
- To vote, you must hold $ODOS tokens and have not delegated your voting power, or you must have received delegated voting power from others.
- When a proposal goes live, you'll see it listed in the ODOS Snapshot space.
- Simply connect your wallet, review the proposal, and choose your voting option.
- Voting is open for 7 days during the Active phase.
- After you vote, your tokens stay in your wallet. Voting doesn’t lock or transfer them.
How Delegation Works
Delegation lets you assign your voting power to someone else, so they can vote on proposals on your behalf. This can be helpful if:
- You’re not available to vote consistently.
- You want someone more active or knowledgeable to represent your views.
- You support a contributor or delegate and want to boost their influence.
Key things to know:
- Delegation does not transfer your tokens, you keep full ownership.
- You can delegate or remove delegation at any time.
- Delegation happens directly on Snapshot by clicking “Delegate” and entering the wallet address of the person you trust.
